[Irene trails her fingers over the photographs on the desk, picking one up to take a closer look at it. She studies the serious face of the little girl in it and then sets it back down in the faint dust free spot she got it from. Detective Donovan doesn't seem to put much store in housekeeping, but Irene sees this as a trait that might come in handy. If she's willing to shirk one duty, maybe there are others as well.
She moves to the sofa and sits down, drawing her legs up beside her on the seat. She props her head up with her hand on the armrest and sighs lightly. She expected her company almost an hour ago and while she prides herself on being patient when she needs to be, there is only so much snooping one can do. She pulls out her phone and distracts herself for a moment by sending a text.
She looks up only at the sound of a key in the lock and smiles. She waits until Sally's stepped inside before she speaks, breaking the silence of the apartment.] I made myself at home. I hope you don't mind.

[She straightens up the tiniest bit and steps inside the doorway. She's careful to keep her body language loose, but there is a more directness to her tone.] I'd like to barter some information.

[In fact, no one else is Irene Adler, and that's a fact that Sally is well aware of. Whether she wants to be or not. It seems like there's always some too-smart-for-their-own-good character just around the corner, these days. Or maybe Sally just feels the lack of one in particular, very strongly.]
What makes you think I'd tell you anything. Police force, remember. [Though if the trade is right, Sally never was the morally centered type. Her life is a shade of grey, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know the difference between right and wrong.]
